1. On May 25, local time, a reception was held at the Consulate-General of the Republic of Korea in Seattle, the US, to mark the completion of the remodeling of the mission building into one with a Han (Korean)-style twist. The remodeling work was undertaken by the Foreign Ministry in cooperation with Jeollabuk-do (North Jeolla Province) as part of its project to transform its overseas diplomatic missions into “exhibition halls on Korean culture.”
2. The Foreign Ministry has conducted the aforementioned project since 2003 in order for its 180 overseas missions to serve as “exhibition halls on Korean culture” and to play pivotal roles in the ROK’s cultural diplomacy.
